Your own drinks at IOW

Does anyone know if you can take your own beers around the whole festival (like Glastonbury)

Or are they only allowed in certain areas (camping etc), meaning you can only buy beers from the bar at the main arena and not take your own in? (like Leeds, Kendal etc)

Cheers

You can take your drinks everywhere apart from the the arena. The security are pretty good at finding cans in hoods and camping chair bags but it’s pretty easy to smuggle in spirits if you can be bothered. They are very laid back if you are caught, they just take it off you and through you go.

In the camping area and on the walk to the main music areas you can drink own booze but there's only a couple of small stages on this route before the security area where they check for alcohol. We normally drink at tent then maybe just one or two on this walk otherwise you've gotta ditch booze at security point. Only small sealed plastic water bottles allowed past this point. No glass allowed anywhere on festival site including camping areas.
