I was a little surprised that Jack White didn't end up here, given the late summer routing of his shows around the UK. Felt like an obvious slam-dunk of a pick.

Wolf Alice intrigue me. Headlining Tramlines, likely gearing up to make the push for R+L-type slots after selling out Finsbury Park... feels like it would have to be a proper coup-level shout.

Yeah, I did wonder if they might be getting too big for Piece Hall now. Wet Leg did Castlefield this year and were subbing them at Tramlines. Wishful thinking! I'd happily see them do another outdoor headline in the north of England, wherever it might be (except R+L, which I'm def too old for now 😂)

Would be interested to see if, as a one-and-done alongside BST, Wolf Alice could shift at Roundhay Park. Obviously a massive top-end capacity, but believe both major shows there this summer only posted around 40,000 or so.

With a good undercard and sensible pricing it might be doable. Took a long time for the Sunday at Tramlines to sell out though. Hopefully now they'd have some good footage from this year's shows to help with the promo.

I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.

Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.

What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂

Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.

I'm 59. It's not so much the music as the camping/late night chaos I've grown out of at R+L. If I was still local to Leeds I might still be persuaded for a day ticket if the lineup was to my taste.

I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.

I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.

Biffy Clyro back again for R+L then 😁

To be fair, Biffy Clyro still one of the true "coup" bookings they've had here. Not implausible another Victorious headliner ends up in the mix, given Ashcroft has done it before. Maybe Kasabian, on the back of their arena run?
