East Campervan - Tuesday access

Hi all,

First time Glastonbury visitor and coming with a few family in campervans, all staying in East General.

I notice on the website it says you can entry from Tuesday noon, is there a cut off time for arrival? I'd like to set off Tuesday after work which means it would be around a 11:30pm/12:30am arrival, are we likely to get turned away at this time or does anyone know if you can arrive at any point through the early hours?

My thinking behind it is that we will get a closer spot due to earlier arrival and also beat the Wednesday traffic when the other gates open.

Cheers

If you're all arriving together, I suggest you have some sheets of paper showing you're in a convoy (eg 1 of 3) which helps keep you together through the entrance checks and onto the fields. The road is narrow and winding onto the fields but is fine for vans. You're parked in lines, so if you can be bothered at midnight, you can chat to the parking steward to be able to reverse one van so your habitation doors face your family's van door etc.

There are lights around the field edges but if you're putting tents up on arrival (that's ambitious) take head torches for illumination.

Great thank you for the detailed information, there will be 2 of us in convoy so makes sense, the rough plan is just to get in through the gates and pitch up for the night, no tents required. Then on the Wednesday set up the rest of the stuff.
