Not heard about this festival until the other week when I went to an RDF gig. Got some tix, looking forward to it.

I'm one of those weird people who don't have a facebook account and for entirely stubborn reasons refuse to get one. It looks like all the info for the festival is coming out on FB only, which is a pain, so I can't see what it is. I know that there are the day/stage splits posted for example, could some kind soul upload them here?

I can only see Fridays stage splits on Facebook. @eagleweb might be able to let you know the other days. I have also updated the poster in the first post 😊

Brill, thanks.

Beeb now predicting thunderstorms for Saturday, which could be quite refreshing after all this heat!

And fun too if we get a good lightning show - one of those excellent summer sheet lightning affairs.

Last one, please go and see Spiral Navigators if you can and say hello to Richard "Crying Eagle" from me, he is an old mate of mine. They sadly lost their bass player Kozmic Andy (Fricker) in December. 🧙🏻‍♂️☮️🏻 🌈 Andy was one of the organisers of first Mabfest. 😥

What a lovely festival!

Really hope Dani puts it on again next year - chatted to her mum and she was unspeakably proud of what her daughter had achieved, quite right too.

Cracking PA systems in the tents, the sound was always so clear for every band. Delicious pizzas to keep us fueled through the weekend. Lots of lovely people and lots of even lovelier dogs chilling out.

Only slight concern I suppose is how the field would hold up if we had a wet year like last year, pretty sure the clay soil would turn to thick porridge. But that's okay, cause we only have warm and sunny summers now.

Oh, and Spiral Navigators were great fun, thanks for the recommendation.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
