Taxi rank - Monday

Hi folks. 

We have been going for years (usually drive over from Ireland).  This year some of our group, for various reasons, have to fly back on the Monday and have to be at the airport for 1pm. 

What's the story with the taxi rank?  Can you just rock up on the Monday and hope to get one or do you have to have booked in advance?

You need to pre-book a taxi but it is a moot point as to where your pick up point should be. It used to be by Steanbow and the 2022 map still identifies this as the Private Coach & Taxi Park at the Bronze Gate. However at recent festivals there has been a concerted effort to get people/taxis/private hire to use the Drop Off and Collection point with shuttle bus to gate A.

Restrictions have been placed on which vehicles can use the Steanbow park (for example, minibuses need be preregistered a fee of £120) and mention of taxi drop off/collection here had been (deliberately ?) dropped.

Another option might be to get one of the Shuttle buses to Glastonbury town, Wells or Shepton Mallet and booking the taxi pick up from that town. I've never caught a taxi at the festival but I have heard of tales of it being a bit of a free for all at the taxi rank on the sunday night/monday morning, and as Lycra says I think the festival tries to discourage too many taxis coming onto the roads around the site. It might be easier to book one to meet in one of the above towns
