Glatonbury Abbey gig - help with accommadation

HI all - as a very long time user of this forum I know I can rely on the good people here to help / offer good suggestions...

So, Sat August 5th is my 50th birthday, it also happens to be when Brain Wilson is playing Pet Sounds at Glastonbury Abbey. Im a big big big Beach Boys fan and love that album. So to spend my 50th in Glastonbury watching that album is an absolute bonus and treat. Before anybody pipes up about Brian Wilson and his ability to play these days, I know, Ive seen him, I get it but Im ok with that.

So getting to the point...  the help Im after is Im after some nice accommodation as close as possible for 9 people that wont break the bank. Im struggling a little and have tried the obvious Airbnb route and a few other sites. Ideally Id like a big house for the weekend but am open to other thoughts.

Thanks all.

I take it you've dismissed the camping option. Have you tried any of the local pubs in see if any offer accommodation? Some idea of your budget might be helpful.

I work in Glastonbury so am happy to check any properties out for you beforehand.

We've been the last 2 years and hotels/ B&B's are a real swine after the event and seem to be booked up ages in advance. We live fairly local but have been known to have the odd drink over the course of the evening so need somewhere to stagger to.

Try a bit further afield - taxi pick up worked out quite easy after event as the crowd isnt that large and clears fairly quickly. We stayed in the Wookey Hole hotel last year. Bit of a faceless chain type place - but reasonably priced and clean.

    • Same’s happened at MSG recently with Rush and Phish alternating nights. I guess each band has its own unique production so their riggers will be kept busy
    • The rumour was uk arena tour late this year.  Same as Charli xcx cant be announced until Reading headline is done.
    • Latest from the sun at least is that harry is still headlining but Olivia has turned down a spot next year to work on new music and hope for 2028.   So they can't have Fender, Fontaines, Harry, Olivia and Madonna.
    • I mean I don't think EC and FFDP are borderline sub, they wouldn't be any lower now.   2025 is about as strong as Bloodstock gets yet this year only one headline would sub and the others would play 3rd down or lower.    Machine Head wouldn't sub at Download regardless of rarity, they don't sell enough tickets and I'm not sure Gojira would sub either. Their last UK tour was a mix of smaller arenas and academy dates. Ally Pally being the only London date, not even Wembley Arena.
    • live music / main stage will generally end around 11pm but theres dj’s and late goings on right till 4am if you are so inclined.   Drinks are about £7.50 a pint probably and yes theres lots of mixed drinks / spirits / cocktails available to buy   wonderful festival, back for my third year in a row and 4th overall
