The Green Gathering will be back in its gorgeous location, just 18 miles from Bristol, 3rd-6th August 2017.

New website launched today www.greengathering.org.uk with EARLYBIRD TICKETS £85 from Bristol Ticket Shop until they run out.

Just a few acts announced so far - its early days - One Eyed God (punk-ska-reggae), BAAB (Swedish folk with a difference), The Antipoet (cabaret-meets-poetry-meets-punk/folk), Banjo Bill Lloyd (Appalachian, Bluegrass, Irish, and Traveller tunes), Creedy (psychedelic folk) and The Wierdstring Band (a whole lot of strings, humour and an 'anarchist ceilidh').

The Green Gathering usually has a good and eclectic selection of bands across intimate and outdoor stages; and a whole lot of other stuff too. More workshops, debates, crafts, and interesting stuff to engage with than most festivals except the real biggies like Glastonbury... all in a 5000-person festival that's easy to get around and about as friendly and laid back as anyone could hope for. With reasonably priced bars, really good food, loads for families to do, spacious campsites... it's good.

You can have a campfire (bring a brazier); you can bring your own booze (just not to sell); the food is top quality and not overpriced, and the same goes for the bars.

If you sometimes want to do something other than get messy and listen to music at a festival, you'll probably love The Green Gathering. Over 100 talks on topical issues and workshops in everything from tango dancing to wild food foraging, from spoon carving to laughter yoga, from songwriting to dowsing.

The music's great, the stages are small - so you can get right up to the bands rather than seeing them as tiny specks in the distance or on a tv screen.

Spring Advance Tickets are £95 from Bristol Ticket Shop: http://www.bristolticketshop.co.uk/eventdetails.aspx?e=13171

Check out the eFestivals reviews from 2015 and 2016. They're pretty good :)

I've been lucky enough in the last 3 years to get to attend a fair few varied festivals. Bearded Theory, Lunar, Wychwood, Just-So, Nozstock, Standon Calling, Kaya and Green Gathering. For me, this one stands out and I'd just like to give Green Gathering a big thumbs up.

For people who want to look beyond the headline acts that most festivals promote Green Gathering offers so much.
Great bands, yes. But also a beautiful site. Beautiful super friendly people. Loads of fun workshops. A vibe you can't buy.

Oooooooh, such a chilled environment, kids running and laughing, non-stressed parents and carers, the whole thing has evolved seemingly organically to be entertaining and enjoyable on more levels than seem possible.

The amount and breadth of workshops, creative ones like Blacksmithing, wood carving, Ring making, stone carving, dance and loads of stuff for little kid's to make and do.

Interactive discussion and learning based workshops too.

The Healing Fields offers more and more each year, the whole place has Saunas, Massage of many different varieties, great food and great coffee.

As if that wasn't enough, there are more than enough stages and walkaround entertainment than you can shake a (Shamanic) stick at!

The Beer, Cider and non-alcoholic drinks selection is fantastic too!!

The main thing I have taken away from the Green Gathering for the last few years has been the amount of laughing and fun, and feeling of joy from messing about with so many folk who seem to feel the same, intangible, vibe.

It really is one of the highlights of Summer!

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
