Going alone

Hello, just a shout out to anyone who is going on their own as I am... It's my second time at KC but the first time alone. I have no doubt that everyone will be lovely, it would be great to know where to find you all!  Have to be honest; I'm getting slightly nervous now... Is it just me? X

Have done loads of festivals on mainland Europe on my own and would never worry about it.

Always meet decent groups of people to hang out with. Never been to Kendal calling and actually camping with a guy i met at Rock Wrecther a few years back that was on his own. So meeting up with his mates for the w/end.

But i wouldn't be nervous as i think from what i have read that the festival don't attract too many clowns.

I know for Pukklepop and Wrechter the festivals i went to each year - Efestivals used do a meet up.

Not sure if something similar has been done for this?

Don't worry mate you'll have a scream. All of my group met each other at KC over the years. We are all in our 30s -40s boys and girls from north west, Wales and Scotland. We will be in the emperors field (as always) so come say hi if you catch us. Make friends with security too because they are generally lovely people. Have a good one dear.

Hey! I was gonna be going alone but I've managed to round up a few other randoms (on meetup & instagram) who wanted to go so now we're all going to meet up and camp together :-) You're more than welcome to chat to us and join our group if you fancy? There's 3 girls, 1 guy so far - from the North East & North West x

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
