Deer Lodge - Parking

Still considering this, before they all sell out.

Does anyone know if the parking for Deer Lodge is in the main parking or the closer parking spaces.  I bit concerned about the kids having to walk miles to get to it to get set up.  Also, is Deer lodge one of the sites nearest the arena?

Hi trebor

this is the map from last year so subject to change but the main site layout hasn't changed significantly in the 5 years we've been going, note that it is not exactly to scale but should give you an idea

deer lodge uses the emperors entrance & their parking is just behind these fields

not sure how old your kids are but the site is very compact so there is nowhere is miles away

the parking for deer lodge is excellent. You will drive in to the site via a different entrance altogether - leading you without a queue to a small car park - running along side the deer lodge field. We were literally 30 seconds from our car last year.  There is staff to check you in and show you to your rental bellepad or whatever.  I did note the Tipis were in a further field so a bit further to walk. It is relatively close to the arena entrance - not as close as the emperor field - but still - deer lodge is well worth it.  You get less noise in the deer lodge with it being slightly further. the toilets in deer lodge were well serviced last year - and the showers well kept too.  The Octopads were very close to the loos so very very boggy ground around those - the belle pads were perfecty positioned though.the majority of campers in Deer lodge are very civilised and friendly. go for it
