Caravan searches?

First year camping in a wagon rather than a tent. Just wondering whether the caravan will get any kind of search on the way in? Also, has anyone ever been stopped by the boys in blue on the way and had the caravan searched? Never had any probs in the car but just wondering if things are different now we've made the transition to the higher echelons of camping hierarchy? ;-)

In 2010 I worked as part of a caravan search team and that year about half of the caravans were searched for glass and people hiding in the toilets. There wasn't enough time to do a thorough search very often (it happened 3 or 4 times over the 3 days I did it). Times may have changed though!

My camper has been searched every year since 2005. Mainly looking for glass bottles and too much booze.

Used to have Customs & Excise people doing searches but it's now just the blue-shirted security people.

Too much booze? WTF? To be honest I'm more concerned about them looking for other 'stuff'.

Seems a strange thing to try and quantify...will the same principles apply to my cornflakes and Haribo?
