Cooler box wheels - DIY tips needed

So I bought an Igloo MaxCold in 2011 to keep my booze cold. I filled the thing right to the top and happily went on my way to the festival.

However about half way from Pedestrian Gate A to Michael's Mead one of the wheels came off. The muddy conditions being mainly to blame. Anyway, after lending a fellow camper's wheelbarrow I got my booze to my tent and the cooler box did it's cooling thing fantastically well...I still had solid ice on Monday morning.

So I am very much inclined to take the box again and I got around to mending it the other week before the Epsom Derby where I thought I'd give it a little test run. The wheel came off a few yards outside my door this time!

So my question, what is the strongest adhesive I can use to bolt the wheel back on and where can I buy a similar one to what I have on the one working wheel. See the pic.

I used super glue and a bolt that was not quite suitable last time...

Best bet would be to get a sack truck and put it on that. Can't see that ever making it across the site. You could try and contact the manufacturer to see if they supply spare parts.

I've got a sack truck from machine mart and it's done a few years now without a problem, carried a large cooler, tent and crates of cider/beer secured with pallet wrap.

Edit.

Some sort of epoxy resin would probably be the strongest, araldite is a well known brand of epoxy resin

You could also try some sort of fibre glass repair system which is fairly similar to epoxy resins with added reinforcement.

Polyurethane. Never stick Anything together with polyurethane that you want to take apart again ever.

Gorilla glue is the easily available brands, from Homebase.

There's a famous story of a military ship being lifted from dry dock into the sea when one of the engineers suddenly went ballistic and started screaming and shouting... he'd spotted they had failed to put in a single bolt holding on the thousand tonne hull - it was being held purely by the polyurethane sealant in the joint

    • First thing I saw on socials today were people talking about Limp Bizkit spending most of their set dicking about, does not surprise me.
