Getting an earlier coach home

Managed to secure myself and my mate last minute tickets in the resale yesterday which I'm still on a high about!

My question though is whether anyone has any experience of getting an earlier coach than their ticket states? Our coach on the Monday doesn't leave until 2pm and, based on previous years, by first light on Monday I just want to get home, get clean and get some sleep. Also I'm going on holiday on the Tuesday so will need to clean clothes, pack etc.

Realise there's no way anyone could guarantee that we'd be able to get on an earlier coach but wondered if anyone had any experience (positive or negative) of trying to get on an earlier coach if there was space?

Not sure about Seeticket coaches, but National Express usually let you on if they have space, as long as you have a valid ticket for later coach. I did this at Bestival and they wait until everyone is on the coach and if there is some spare seats they let you on.
