Important Message from the Organisers of Waveform
It is with the deepest regret that we have to inform you that Waveform is postponed this year. The main reasons are the increased regulations for obtaining a licence, which have been incredibly prohibitive this year. The cost of ticking all the council boxes is just too restrictive for us to run an event such as Waveform, and despite employing our best tactics we are unable to comply and still maintain any sensible budget. We also believe that it would be very likely that first day licensing check issues would lead to a problem in opening up to the public at all.
In addition, we are feeling more and more uncomfortable with all the personal infringements required, from searching, to justification on all levels in order to gather a few thousand like-minded people in a field.
For those who purchased tickets directly from Waveform, right now we can only guarantee a percentage of your money back, but please bear with us as we are working on several options to help you.
The organisers have lost a substantial amount of money, and we felt it was important to communicate the postponement as soon as possible, while we work on alternatives for all ticket holders.
A sad day for all involved.
Please email [email protected] for further information on all options. :resent:
Waveform 2023 Ticket Buyer Options
Huge thanks to the many messages of support, what amazing people you are. We have managed to secure several options for you all and full details below:
Free Entry to Over the Moon - 13th to 15th September http://www.overthemoonfestival.com/ (Plus discounted ticket to Waveform 2014)
A large number of our headliners have kindly agreed to perform at Over the Moon instead of Waveform and the organizers have come to an arrangement with us meaning we have tickets for anyone wishing to attend. Please email us on [email protected] to sort your entry
Free Entry to Alchemy – 20 to 22nd September http://www.alchemyfestival.co.uk/ (Plus discounted ticket to Waveform 2014)
The organisers have kindly worked with us to enable free entry for any direct Waveform Ticket holders who do not already have a ticket for Alchemy. They already have a few of the acts who were performing at Waveform. Please email [email protected] to sort entry.
Private Party – 7 to 8 September – event website to TBC (Plus discounted ticket to Waveform 2014)
For any of you that have bought tickets from us but can’t make the above festivals we will be holding a private party in a similar location to where Waveform was to be held. For more information including location please email [email protected]
Free Ticket to Waveform 2014
This option would be full free entry including parking to Waveform 2014
Refunds
After finalising the above we the organisers have no access to further funds right now. We will honour refunds for those who do not wish to take any of the other options, but please bear with us as raising funds may take some time.
We hope you will understand we have tried our very best to come up with as many options as possible. Apologies again that we couldn’t not put the event we all wanted on this year.

    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
    • It was awful during Father John Misty and I was close to the front. People just shouting and laughing their f-ing heads off about nothing in particular and being louder than the bloody stage.
    • Other things I noted yesterday, away from the obvious…   Positives: - an extra water point towards the back left of the main stages has appeared, which I believe is new for this year (and was much needed) - handing out free ponchos was a good touch  - caroline were fantastic. I’d never been in the Auditori Rockdelux before, it’s a wonderful venue and a great venue if you fancy a more chilled out environment  Negatives: - the talkers. I know it’s always bad here (and most festivals nowadays) but f**k me people wouldn’t shut up yesterday. I wonder if it was partly as a result of people being at artists they had little interest in (due to rain limiting their options), although it wasn’t great during blood orange. We’ll be making an effort to get a spot nearer the front for anyone we particularly care about over the weekend  - not enough staff around (and the ones that are there are largely useless). Most other festivals have them everywhere and are happy to help
