I know some folk that have been going by themselves since they were 14 taking in their own drink and I got in fine last year (was 16 then), haven't heard of anyone being ID'd for having on the way in, there's no way they could ID everyone who looks under 21 it'd take far too long. Just don't expect to get served at the bars without ID.

I'm still 17 and I've been going since '06 (albeit with my Dad until 09). You should be okay, just go in with confidence.

Edit - Have not been ID'd at the bars yet and I look about 15 at best.

Anyway dot have a drivers licence, and not taking my passport! It is inevitable I will get asked for ID, would student ID be accepted?

I'm 24 and look it, never get ID'd but always carry my driving license on me...rather not risk it.

I'm 23 now and get ID'd at least once a day. I have my ID but if you were only 17 then it'd be easy enough to bugger off to the other end of the bar and try again - no harm, eh?
