OK, reflections time:

Good: new layout worked well (e.g. hill at world stage), prices still great, weather still ideal

Bad: patchy line-up (could have missed Sunday completely), no metal stage, far less stalls to browse at during gaps in anything interesting to see, cider would help - you could find it in most shops and bars downtown and would sell well.

It was much less busy this year (including the weekend spike) which I suppose had its pros. Meant we could get from Lehel Ter onto the island in about 20 mins and could get as close as we wanted for the Roses.

This will probably be our last Sziget. Seeing thousands of Dutch kids half your age partying hard all the time makes us feel very old now!

Hi guys

Just a couple of questions.

Are dslr cameras allowed at sziget?

How much money on average did you spend? Compared to a uk fest. Food and beers ive heard is quite cheap.

Yeah it's about 2quid for a can of beer. Probably be about £2.10ish or so next year it always seems to creep up.

I had the time of my life, it was my first ever festival I'd been to and was blown away by the organisation and how friendly the people are.

Will deffo be returning next year!

Also, has anyone been to Glasto? Were thinking of going next year too .. I get the impression its kinda like a British version of Sziget. What are the prices of beer inside glasto too?

It is quite similar to Glasto (as there's no 'arena' and the camping is between the stages). Beer in Glasto is a lot more expensive but you're allowed to take your own beer and food in! I've been to Glasto quite a few times; we'd just take a few crates of beer/spirits between us and carry them around in a bag until we finish them then move on to beer from the bars in the evening. I've been to quite a few different festivals and Sziget is the closest thing I've ever seen to Glasto. Glasto usually has better acts but Sziget has a friendlier crowd, not as busy (some routes in Glasto get rammed and they introduce a one way system!, cheep cold beer and better weather!

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
    • Similar feelings to a few others on here. Not my personal favourite edition but a long way from giving up on it. Felt overcrowded at times and there are just too many people there that don't seem to like music that much! Hardly went to main stages which was the plan. Highlights Ralphie Choo, rusowsky, Gorillaz, Geese, Gelli Haha, The Sophs, PinkPantheress, Dijon. Accommodation booked for next year. Thanks for your company and comments over the past year.
