Hi all, hope you are all getting extremely excited about how soon the fest is, I just wanted to get some clarification on the whole currency conversion issue.

Would you say it's better to convert it there, or in England? Or using something like travellers cheques? Can you use UK debit cards there? Or would there be a charge?

Thanks, apologies for being very un-clued up :)

Best lineup ever! (before you disagree, I like balkan/gypsy... all the big names are present again!)

Arriving the 4th, can't wait!

Normally is a proper cotton one!

Normally I take what I need out in forints. But Guitarbaz on here always gets a better exchange out there so I am taking about £50 worth out and then £ to exchange when there. In my first year I took money out of cash points with debit card for for some reason once it did nt work for a day but then worked following day.

I've never been to the festival but myself and the two people that I'm coming with are taking £400 each, we are staying an extra three days as well as staying the entire festival, I'm hoping this will be enough. Unless I'm missing something obvious, judging off what people have said about the food prices and the drinks price list, I can see it being enough, just depends on what else you plan to do I suppose.

Does anyone know if they plan to release the map in English? It's only in Hungarian so far, as far as I can see and my Hungarian skills are non present!

You can sneak in spirits on the first day, when you're going in with all your luggage. Usually they don't check all of your rucksack, because it would take too much time. Try pouring your drink in half litre plastic bottle(s) and put them in the middle of your bag between socks or sleeping bag.

You can also try pouring whisky in the ice-T bottle, hold in in your hand and hope they don't smell it at the entrance.

    • They are going to have Blink 182 for sure, early June upto around Werchter weekend I'd say for them. Two of Sweden Rock,  Greenfield and RFP are going to miss out.
    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
