So did anyone see the post on szigetnews.co.uk about the acts plays in USA at Outside Lands over the Sziget weekend.

Metallica, Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, Jack White, Stevie Wonder, Beck, Sigur Rós, Justice, Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, Skrillex, The Kills, Dispatch, Passion Pit, Grandaddy, Big Boi, Bloc Party, Franz Ferdinand, Andrew Bird, Explosions in the Sky, MSTRKRFT, Portugal. the Man, Dr. Dog, The Walkmen, Alabama Shakes, Fitz and the Tantrums, Amadou & Mariam, Reggie Watts, Sharon Van Etten, YACHT, Zola Jesus, Tennis, Die Antwoord, Thee Oh Sees, Tanlines, Caveman, Of Monsters and Men, Father John Misty, Tame Impala, Big Gigantic, White Denim, Yellow Ostrich, wallpaper., Trampled By Turtles, City and Colour, and Two Gallants

Looks like everyones favourite rumour is on its way out now. Shame about Franz, Bloc Party, The Kills, Justice and Sigur Ros as well. So I'll say maybe The Cure, Noel Gallagher's HFB, The Killers and Florence ATM will be added for big names, Deadmau5 as the dance act.

So, are we saying that the above are unlikely to be playing - no Franz plonky plonk Ferdinand - phew! ;) On the other hand, I wouldn't be too chuffed to see frigging Florence as a headliner either - unfortunately, it's beginning to feel inevitable - because she seems to be headlining just about every festival in Europe this summer :(

florence? please no. the last thing you want after a skinful of dreher is to be presented with that wailing bint.

And, of course, one of the best bits about going to a festival is discovering new bands!

it's such a buzz. i love it :) i don't like wishing my time away but it really is something to look forward to.

walking over the bridge on the first day, with all the welcome banners in the different languages hanging down, is just an amazing experience.

Who are the candidates for Day 0 then? Usually the biggest act of the festival, if memory serves (Prince, Muse etc).

I can think of

The Cure- would get to play a full set

The Killers

Bob Dylan (please no!)

Peter Gabriel (would be epic)

Springsteen (European tour finished a week before though)

Probably someone no one will think of though.

Would love to see The Cure again for old times sake (used to go and see them all the time but haven't seen them now in years!) ;)

Springsteen always puts on a mega performance - we're actually going to see him in Manchester, but def wouldn't say no to seeing him again!

We actually love Uncle Bob (Dylan) and would be dead chuffed if he was playing (although, with Bob, to enjoy the show, you have to go with the flow and expect the unexpected (he usually hides behind a Bontempi organ and does his hits in Blues Brothers style - which suits me coz I always loved the Blues Brothers :D) ;)

TBH, I think it will be someone totally unexpected. Anyway, as long as it isn't frigging Florence :(

Please no Brucey or Bob Dildo! If they're going for a more up to date lineup then those two will deffo be out anyway.

Who knows? Sziget always surprises with the lineup (who would have guessed that Prince would play last year??). Half the fun is waiting to see what they'll pull out of the bag next :)

Oh and there's always a Blues Brothers tribute band on the Blues stage, and it's always great fun! Never get tired of it!

Well, the sziget news site seems to be hinting at The Killers. If that's for Day 0 - not sure how Day 0 works, but if there isn't anything much else happening on the other stages, could be an excuse to explore the city! ;) (Sorry, but we just don't get The Killers! )

Oh, and will def check out the Blues Brothers tribute ;)

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
