This will be my first visit to Alchemy and I have a few questions if anyone could answer please.

How far is it from parking to camping in either Beautiful Days or Glasto terms? I don't know if i will need a trolley or not as I'm coming on my own and I'm not as young (or fit!!) as I used to be.

Is there a good selection of real beer and cider?

What sort of food choices are there?

Does it get very cold at night?

Thank you!! :)

It's about 100 yards from car to camping! In BD terms it's about as far as the walk from the Bar to the Merchandise tent max (if that)!! And it's totally flat.

Not so sure about the beer choices as I don't drink the stuff, but there was some rather scrummy Old Rosie last time (yum!). However, unlike some other festivals, the beer tent isn't really the main focus!

Food choices are pretty good, excellent food, excellent value. The stone-baked pizza is to die for!

See you there, have fun!

Whats the atmosphere like...looking for a friendly relaxed festy where you can just wander and enjoy "being there" to finish off the year. Have never been to this one but have heard good things in the past. Also what are the communal fire pits? I assume they are campfires you can sit around in the evening. Went to a smaller one near the Rollright Stones that did this in the middle of the site (fires with a circle of benches/bales of hay to sit on) and it was an excellent way to relax and chat.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
