I have a sack truck from B&Q the 25 quid normal one

need to get sone bungee cords

but-not sure what size ones to get?

http://www.gooutdoor...rch/text/bungee

says they have 18in/24in/30in/36in - which ones are going to work best? too lose and it's a pain if they arent big enough to go round twice ..

gonna try poundland first-if they got some what size do i get there?

My bungee cords didnt really do the trick last year! All my booze was scattered all over the floor 5 minutes away from the car! Thanks to the lovely man who gave me his duct tape! :)

gaffer tape i considered-but thought it might break due to the heavy load?

ratchet strap looks good and i guess just get one pretty long as it looks adjustable

what sie bungees did you get mate? I measured round the bottom of the sack truck with a crate of fosters on and its pretty much 60inches..so not sure which bungees to get?!

Go to a Big Yellow or other type of storage place. Buy a roll of pallet wrap and use that. Tie start of it to the handle of the trolley and double knot tightly and then mummify from top to bottom.

This has the advantage (if done correctly) of meaning that if the trolley falls over, everything falls as one thing and separate things don't all slide off.

Just don't forget to take the roll with you in case you get asked to unwrap it at the gates.

I can't recommend this method enough over bungee cords, they are not to be trusted!

I used bungees and industrial strength cling film last year. The bungees were all different sizes so I looped the small ones together and then wrapped around the whole lot with the cling film and it worked really well and is what i'll be doing again :)

I did okay using Poundland bungees last year, although I think it helped that I had mostly bags (so squidgy) rather than rigid boxes.

One thing that I would urge you to check - if you buy the Poundland bungee cords, they have a clip on the end, rather than a hook. On my trolley, I can only fit this over the 'joins' - not the main 'pipe' bits. (I apologise, I'm psyched and the words are not flowing this morning!)

Size wise, get a mix... but, better too long than too short (you can always go round something twice).

All of this said, I always travel with an emergency roll of duct tape :D

I'm also doing two trips to my van. With the threat of mud, it might be worth making sure that you keep your trolley light enough that you can pick it up if necessary?

One tip that works for us:

We get black recycling bins for paper and glass/tins, not the huge ones - these are rectangular and about 2 foot x 18 inches. They also have lids.

A couple of these carry all our drink, food, cooking bits and pieces etc. With it all contained it's much easier to bungee onto a sack truck. We also take a role of cling film just in case of emergencies.

I'm also thinking of covering the whole thing in a giant plastic bag just in case in rains tomorrow.
