I'm not suggesting this is realistic - but the Flaming Lips and Weezer are currently on a joint headlining tour of North America, where they share the stage and take turns playing a song. I'd definitely buy a ticket if that show was headlining one of the days.

Not going to lie, i'd be pretty gutted if I had either/both Arcade Fire and Florence headlining. Florence would be decent 1 or 2 under the headliner on any day but she'd be another Paolo Nutini (A few hits and good songs but not really headliner material). Arcade Fire are the same. I like their music but be it Friday/Saturday/Sunday, is this really the kind of music you want played headlining?

Westlife/Take That are two massive bands in the world, sell millions of records. Wouldn't want them at a festival though haha :P . Arcade Fire just dont really strike me as a good festival band despite them being a good band generally. I'd love to go see them at a gig, even 1 or 2 below at a festival, but not headlining

Good enough to headline Coachella but not quite big enough to headline Rockness? Trust me, I watched them hewadline at Leeds last year and it was mindblowing. I can assure you that Arcade fire are a headline act and will be for many years to come.

I would love to see Arcade Fire at Rockness!!!

I think they will play T instead tho as will Daft Punk if they tour.

Headliners i'd love that are possible to get: Moby, Massive Attack or Underworld, Primal Scream

Headliners that it will probably be 3 of : Swedish House Mafia, Guetta, Deadmau5, Biffy Clyro, Pendulum, Chase & Status

I would take Deadmau5 but would be wary of the crowd he might attract, him and SHM would attract loads of ned types.

Lower down the pecking order would also like to have: Crystal Method, Simian (back), Soulwax, Vitalic, Alex Gaudino, Chicane, Manics and Sasha & Digweed paining up would be immense.

I would love... Daft Punk (obviously). Justice, Etienne De Crecy, Deadmau5 would be alright... Soulwax, Sebastian Leger, Chemical Brothers (which will hopefully/most likely appear), Underworld, Orbital and maybe Lützenkirchen. But... not getting my hopes up :P kind of hope there is more that kind of music than the likes of biffy clyro though... or how sad, olly murs (surely not). and the less neds the better.

I finally took the plunge and bought one of the £99 tickets (which yes are still on sale). This will be my first Rock Ness and I'm really looking forward to it because the line up has always interested me but I've just never taken the plunge. I hope Daft Punk play but will take most of the ideas brought up in this thread :D

    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
