My memory is so rubbish. I once did a medical trail for ketamine where I had remember words flashed up at me whilst having a CT scan. I was embarrassingly useless.

I did get paid £300 quid though for taking medical grade k, not a bad job for 2 hours of my time. :)

Oh crap.. I didn't notice the 'THE WORDS IN THE FIRST PART OF YOUR TEST NOT THE ANAGRAMS' at all, I answered with the anagram words and thought I'd done really quite well.. Only realised when I just read starknakeds comment.. :(

Don't read this till after the test....

I suspect the anagrams are merely a quick distraction to help you 'forget' the words used and you're not actually rated on how many you solve....the important bit is what you remember in the last step

They are. There was a study by Peterson and Peterson that did the same kind of thing with trigrams and counting. It's to do with displacing thoughts in your memory (if I remember correctly).
