Passport Application Countersigniature Question

I'm applying for a replacement to my lost passport and I need it urgently. I don't know anyone in a professional job who can countersign it for me at short notice. What should I do?

They're supposed to be professional, I don't think it matters that much. Surely you know someone OP? Ask a friend of your parents? a doctor? old teacher? boss?

Noone fitting these job titles? As long as they've known you 2 years and aren't related/living at the same address, they can sign:

* bank/building society official

* chairman/director of limited company

* councillor (local or county)

* civil servant (permanent), but not someone who works for IPS
