No Latitude for me (and no Glasto for many others) due to Oxfam not announcing when the applications would be open, I was ready at 9am yesterday before I started work but the website crashed and I could not get to a computer between 11.30 - 12.15 and when I did it was to late.

I feel sad that equal opportunities for applications were ignored :'-( My friend who was going to go with me will now have to cancel or go on her own

Just found this on the Oxfam stewarding site

We have had more cancellations than we expected since the cancellation date for Glastonbury this year, so have been phoning a handful people to offer them a place. We have only called people according to strict criteria of those who:

are experienced stewards

have an active 2011 deposit

are on the Glastonbury waiting list

have up to date training

We currently have over 5,412 people on the Glastonbury waiting list and felt that if we reopened to them all at this late stage, the anticipated rush would crash the server and increase our admin when we're really busy for only a small number of places. This situation is covered by our FAQS which say: "If we only have a few spaces available, experienced stewards who are on the waiting list may be contacted first." We're sorry that we could not re-open these places on the website and hope that anyone who is disappointed will be joining us at one of our other fantastic festivals this summer!

      Nah we like Rafa. It was annoying he was there when the relegation in 2016 happened because he actually was on a 6 game unbeaten run at the end but the damage was done by McClaren's ineptitude. Plus he got us back up and kept us up twice despite Mike Ashley not being willing to spend. There's a slight sourness his exit seemed to be as much about getting a big payday in China as much as falling out with Ashley but his stint with us was positive on the whole.   Though it seems like he's been in a downward spiral since leaving us. He was a bizarre choice by Everton which went really wrong really quickly and it didn't go well at Celta Vigo or Panathanikos.    Curiously he himself said he was open to the Scotland job. Which really would feel like we're living in a strange old timeline.

      Totally. Appointing him as Robson's replacement was a catastrophic choice.    John Carver and Steve McClaren make my anti-podium.
