Arriving on Thursday

Hey!

I have just registered to this forums, but I have been reading for quite a long time. I do have a question and I hope you can help me:

I will go to Glastonbury the first time with a friend this year and we are really looking forward to it, but we probably won't be able to arrive on the Wednesday but on the Thursday. We will arrive in London by plane. I know there are coaches on Wednesday, but which possibilities do we have to get to Glastonbury on Thursday? And will it be very hard to find a place to camp? Thanks for your answers!

Shuttle buses from Castle Cary run through out the whole of the festival from Wednesday until Monday so getting to the site isn't a problem.

With regards to camping there will be spaces still available but other more popular places fill up quickly. Do you have any friends going that could take tent for you so they can save your space?

You will struggle to get a place for a large tent. Would suggest two smaller tents, and you will be prety far away from the main arena areas.

not yet, but we will book our flights these days. should we prefer one?

The obvious choice is Easyjet. Saltzberg to Bristol. Book sooner rather than later though.

thank you for looking that up, but although austria is a very small country, i would have to drive several hours to salzburg, so i guess i will fly away from vienna. but it is good to know that bristol is an option too (can we also go per train?), maybe it is cheaper. i guess we will book this weekend, we'll see.

Bristol would be the best option if you are flying in.

we decided to go to london, because it is much cheaper. we will arrive at heathrow late on wednesday and will go to glasto per coach at 8 the following day.

but now i have another question: have the national express- coaches been roughly on time the last years? if it is supposed arrive at heathrow at 10:25, will we be able to catch a flight at 14:05?

You'll find a place to camp providing you don't have a massive tent - took me and my mates 3 and a half hours to get sorted after we arrived thursday morning last year!
