Caravan/Camper Van Advise

We are hoping to get tickets next year (fingers crossed) it is our first time and so excited. However, I don't want to stay in a tent and I am looking to hire caravan/motorhome, is this possible and which company is willing to hire? Has anybody had any experiences of hiring one for Glasto 2 adults & 2 teenagers. I know we wont have running water/electricity but I don't care as long as I know we will be dry when it is bedtime (I am wimp, I know :)) But any advice would be amazing, Cheers guys

Anyone who has found a half decent company hiring out caravans/campervans for a festival may not want to share this info incase they can no longer hire one themselves next time! ;)

Do some searches in Google, you may be lucky. Otherwise do what we did in 2008 and buy your own. Our now 21 year old caravan cost £1200.00 complete with an as new full size Dorema awning. I can highly recommend Bessacarr caravans, even the older ones. It has a shower and toilet, gas hob and oven and 3 way fridge and a huge king size bed - it's bliss! :)

We used Motorholme this year. They basically take the money and put you in touch with a campervan owner in your area. You go and pick the van up off them and leave your car in their drive.

Be aware though that all companies hike their prices up for Glastonbury. We paid £800 for a 2 berth for Glastonbury week. I think the usual price for that van is around £400 in the surrounding weeks.

Also, you need to think about booking now because as soon as tickets go on sale, all the companies are booked up. Many companies will offer to refund your deposit should you not get tickets on ticket day.

This year we are going to buy a caravan instead as for pretty much the same price, we've got something for plenty of festivals to come.
