Jesus christ, surely you can go and have sex with your wife or something rather than talk over my personal financies. Ampersand - you can do the same but with your hand.

On a side note - Yes you can get rent for under £400. I'm looking at several places in Glasgow that works out much much cheaper than that.

Why would he contribute to the mortgage? His living there isn't putting a burden on that.

It's ridiculous and incredibly insulting to label him as 'Young, Dumb, and Living Off Mum', when that term clearly applies to social rejects who expect their parents to pay for everything (clothes, food, transport, booze, entertainment etc...), and who aren't doing anything to improve their own quality of life. Whereas pogo is at least trying to find gainful employment, and has just completed a degree.

Just because he's living with his parents, yes, that technically means he's living off them. But when does that really stop for anyone? Whose parents helped pay for a deposit on their house, payed for part of the wedding, lent them a few bob when they needed it? Receiving help from your parents is not the same as using them as your personal slaves.

???? Is Jobbyjabber = pogo? eh

Anyway. You get £52 a week on the sausage (more than me btw).

If you were living on yer tod...you wouldnt get any more cash--you would get your rent paid and council tax paid.

It is very very difficult surviving on £50 a week. Almost impossible really.

Being at home. I dont see it as Mr Oaf portrays you and I`d say the only part of the tryst which applies to you is YOUNG.

I am not sure though if you really do pay for all your own bait and stuff..shampoo,lavvy paper,oxy10,neeps an tatties etc etc.

Are you saying you live in the family home...but yer Mam doesnt make yer tea at all? Nah! what sort of Mam is that.

When I was serving me apprenticeship..my wage was £9.35.... I would give me Mam £5 on the friday aft for Board & Lodge.

By the monday...she had given me the £5 back PLUS a few more quid for going out too!!

It is very right that any child living at home and getting money of any kind offers their parents any amount they wish to take for providing a roof, food, laundry, piggy bank etc etc.

The example Rabston tells of above is awful and that bloke wants whippin with a wet shite in a fishnet stocking.

That is really taking the piss.... but if he is allowed to get away with it.. well, there you go. And I dont believe she is not bothered about only gettin 20 quid...do you?

in terms of talking about dependancy, the word 'child' is completely wrong. he and i, and others in our situation are adults. end of story.

when was the last time you were refered to as your mothers child. i'm sure son is used 99 times out of 100.

In my reply I wasnt particulary speaking of dependency. I have children 26yrs and 24yrs...and afaic...they are in my eyes children even though of course they are women in the eyes of soceity (and you...so keep away! yer knob hound)

<<It is very right that any adult living at home and getting money of any kind offers their parents any amount they wish to take for providing a roof, food, laundry, piggy bank etc etc.>>

The word adult in the context of that sentence is wrong imo.

Pogo/Jabberwocky or whoever he is.... is a child living with his parents. Its not a derogatory term.

Even that sponging bastard who is parked up at Hotel Dad with his wifey and tha is still a child..

Now...its 9pm... get yersell on the lash Amps. Goo-on..this time next year---you`ll be up t yer goggs in debt

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
