Rain.

To be honest, even though the floods were ridiculous, in '05 it only really rained on thursday night into friday lunchtime...thursday day was as hot as it was this year (I had to buy sun cream!), and it was pretty warm and dry for the rest of the weekend (I don't remember any more rain, and wore short sleeves with no jacket for the rest of the weekend)...as others have said, it had dried out except for the worst hit places by Sunday....'07 on the otherhand was a pain in the arse! (still enjoyed the festie, but definitely the only time I was happy to go home).

I agree with the above. I got a load of waterproof gear on when we ventured out on the Friday and had to go back to the tent as I was too hot in it. It did rain in bits and bobs but was mainly sunny for the rest of the weekend. 2007 was a absolute nightmare. I went to 3 festivals that year and they rained non stop from start to finish at all of them. I still had a good time but had a year off all festivals in 2008 (was gutted when I was watching the coverage on BBC and if I could drive would have driven straight down there). 2009 I was very lucky as I had headed down to the dance village on Thursday night but was really knackered as had stayed up all night on the Wednesday, went back to the tent and slept for 10 hours so missed most of the rain. This year as we all know was boiling, if anything a bit too hot at times. We got a few slight drops of rain literally as we got back to the car at about 6.30pm on the Monday night. We brought a lot of newbies this year and have even more hoping for golden tickets for next year. not sure how they'll cope if we get biblical storms again

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
