Too busy?

Seemed OK to me this year. Queues for drinks and toilets seemed shorter. The Shangri La area was still busy, but not as bad as last year and I think you have to accept this or stagger the closing of the Dance Village so they don't go at the same time as the stages.

The only real problem I have (and have always had) is the entry/exit to the right of the Pyramid. In the evening it is impossible to get through here. The left side has enough access, but if you try to get between JP and the Pyramid, you might as well go via the Other stage.

I would like to make the following points.

The chairs on the paths last night for Stevie were a f*****g joke , we left our tent at big ground to walk down for Orbital

and a late night out and the path to the left of Pyramid was a joke , so much for leaving it open for ambulances etc.

In the accoustic stage on Saturday tried to get in to watch a band - I reckon 90 per cent of crowd were just sat reading

and talking - certainly not interested in what was on stage.

Hot weather gets people out of their tents so that explains why it was so busy !

I didn't think things were any worse than the last three years. I ran into a couple of logjams, but that tends to happen when a big act finishes. Bar queues were much shorter and I barely waited for a beer all weekend.

I didn't see Stevie but could tell he had a big crowd because the other areas seemed super-quiet.

Having said that, I didn't venture down the right side of the Pyramid because that's been a nightmare in previous years and I couldn't be bothered with the hassle!

The main thing for me is that there's always somewhere you can escape to if the crowds do become a bit too much. I don't think that's changed too much.

I'm not sure I felt it was any busier than usual, I only got caught trying to walk around the Pyramid and Other stages but I always leave more time to get around those anyway as they're obviously the busiest. The worst for me was Friday afternoon walking from where we were camping near Mandela bar to the Other stage took well over an hour but this was because a van and a tractor were both trying to get down the track near the other stage at the same time which turned it to complete gridlock.
