Raincoat

It depends on what you are looking for and your budget.

I have a showerproof coat from tesco's that I can easily roll up in a rucksack if light showers are expected but I also have a waterproof jacket (hideous - but bought it for £3 last year from Primark and does the job) which I can use for heavier rain. Both are just above the knee length and so can sit down in tents etc without worrying too much. I also have a poncho from asda that cost £2 I think.

they got plastic waterproof raincoats in pound land for £1 for if it gets really bad and you can just shove that over your normal raincoat i might spray my pack a mack with waterproofer tho, and it needs a wash from stains the past 2 years lol x

Jak in a Pak or Kag in a Bag from millets - loadsa colours and they can clip onto your bag or belt while its sunny, then when the rain comes you unclip it and "KAPOW" you have a lovely warm, dry and pretty rain coat.

Love them x

I would also like a new waterproof jacket, last year I got the 'Pack a Poncho' from ASOS and it was far from waterproof! I am going to see if spraying it with Fabsil sorts this out, if not I may go for the Regatta pack a mac as my boyfriend had this last year and stayed dry in the rain!

Top Shop have got some nice parka-style waterproofs for about £20. They roll up really small. But, if it's looking like it's going to be mainly sunny for the fest, buy one of those flat pack ponchos for £3 which you can slip into your bag in case of sudden downpours. They double-up as sit-mats.

If it's looking like another mudfest, then invest in proper waterproofs from Milletts, including waterproof trousers. Not glamorous, but they were a God-send in the 05 flash flooding and the 07 deluges.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
