Hello,

I have been to Glastonbury for the last 3 years and usually set off from Bristol on the Wednesday morning. Last year we travelled from Leeds the evening before but then faced a 10hour delay getting from Bristol to Glastonbury on the morning of the festival (which I have never experienced before), in fact our friends who travelled from Leeds on the day got there quicker. In past years it has only taken 2 hours max to get from Bristol…..what is likely to be the case this year and what caused these delays last year? I cannot decide on the best plan of action for travel!

I did that route 2 years ago without problems, you've got me worried about going that way again.

Last year we went down the motorway from Bristol got down the m-way in about half hour then massive cues.

Friends went the Shepton Mallet route and they got there about 20 minutes before us after leaing pretty much the same times

I was going to wake in middle of night and drive to arrive early, but think will set off at 12midnight and sleep when we get there. Really want to arrive early to get a good chance to grab the camping space we want, but if you aren't so fussy then any time could be good. Take a decent atlas that shows the back roads - and best of luck, no fun being trapped in a car!
