now just to join the bandwagon, this would make by blooming decade let alone year. Not happening though..

if only it were true.

I'm pretty sure it just won't ever happen, cos there's just too much bad blood between David and the others, for very good reason from what I know.

The nearest that can be got to it are David Byrne's shows - he was superb on the last tour, a set stacked full of TH classics plus a few of the best old DB (some with Eno) songs.

One day I'll get to meet Jerry, to complete my "I've met them" collection.

I cant say I have ever met any of them so probably a 1-1 draw then.

I agree that hsi recent shows with mr Eno were fabulous and I have enjoyed his solo stuff.

Such a shame that these guys cant bury the hatchett and put on the reformation of the decade.

Do you know the details of the fall out?

It's one hell of a hatchet to have to bury. It would involve the eating of huge amounts of humble pie by one, an admission that he's been completely out of order for nearly 20 years, and very probably a huge transfer of cash from his bank account to the others.

Even if all those things happened, I'm still far from sure they'd be enough forgiveness for them to be able to work together.

And that's before even considering if they'd want to, something I get the impression there's no desire for.

While there might have been a point where Chris and Tina might have decided the cash from a reunion would be useful enough to consider doing it, they made a fortune from Maria Carey sampling Tom Tom Club - more than they made from their whole TH career, Chris told me - and then there's since been stuff like their involvement with Gorillaz and others where they've no doubt made a wedge under the radar of most people.

The one thing that has changed in recent years and might end up making enough difference is Bryne's changed personal circumstances - he split with his wife and is now hooked up with someone else, and from all accounts he's like a changed person, far more relaxed and less up himself. If that changed attitude comes with a changed attitude towards TH, then it perhaps becomes a remote possibility.
