perhaps, but also a final we certainly didn't deserve to win given our performances thru the tournament, cos we were dire.

But that aside, I doubt we'd have won. We always raise our game for the Germans, like we don't manage to do most of the time for other teams.

No, there's huge difference.

Back then we had a team who did at times show just how well they could play together (and had done at the WC 4 years before too). They knew what their strengths were, and how to get the best out of each other (which was a lot of what the 'mutiny' was about - they knew it better than Bobby did).

Nowadays we have a collection of individuals, who continually show that they can't play together.

It's precisely because Pat hasn't got them playing any better together than Sven managed that I don't hold out any hope.

Watching SSN and they're interviewing Sunderland fans on Bent's omission from the squad.

It's hilarious.

should he not be in infront of the gangly one? one on one against heskey, he should be there, but you can't argue with how heskey clearly helps rooney.

There is a big difference between believing we COULD, and predicting we WON'T.

I don't know that I'll be proved wrong, I'm merely predicting that I won't be.

IF we don't win it, I think the posts we write will go like this. See if you can guess who will say what:

1. "Bollocks. Absolutely gutted. Bastard Germans. I hate them. Too pissed off to write, I'm off down the pub."

2.:lol::lol::lol::lol: I hope Theo is at home laughing his cute little socks off.

    • We had a really good weekend this year. This was our 2nd year after giving it a go last year with 3 year old twins (we do Glasto but don't take the kids and have no plans to in the distant future!!).   Highlights of the weekend for me was Peter Hook & the Light, English Teacher, Flaming Lips, Adult DVD and Alex James (I get the karaoke thing but I still thought it was great). Missed loads of acts we wanted to see due to having two kids in tow but overall we left happy with what we managed to see across the weekend. Some great food vendors, good to see Steak Frites make an appearance this year, one of my faves from Glasto. Festival is really well run, toilets remained clean and stocked with loo roll all weekend, even on Sunday night/Monday morning. The walk from the cars is a ballache but it is what it is, arriving Thursday evening meant we were parked as far away as you could be.   My only gripe is that there seems to be a trend of parents letting their teenagers camp completely separately to them in family camping. We had a large group of 15-17 year olds near us who came home pissed up every evening at 3-4am being really loud and annoying! I get that it's a festival etc but I think it's taking the piss a bit letting your kids camp separately and disrupt everyone else.   All in all we had a really good time and are looking forward to next year.
    • Haha, was about to say! I'd def put more stock in the exit poll than a sh*t joke on Bluesky. Thanks for panicking me though. 😁
    • f**k! "Susan Hall" Jesus. Ok, calm down.
