Herbal Tobacco

I quit smoking in 2005 and was a total nicotine addict so dare not ever even risk partaking in it again, even just a toke! However, I really miss having a joint every now and then, its the old ritual of rolling etc a pipe is just not the same! Has anyone tried herbal tobacco? I know they now use it in the Coffee Bars in Amsterdam since tobacco was banned. (How daft is that, you can smoke weed but can't mix it with baccy!!)

Any tips on brands appreciated.

Cheers! :P

There is stuff called farmers honey blend which you can get from holland and barrett amongst other places. Its not too bad. Mostly marshmallow so not twiggy making it easier to roll. Its mostly getting used to the flavour. Naster blends are ok too but a bit twiggy.

Don't get the apple blend from H&B - its in a brown packet and honestly tasted like smoking apple cores (surprising really....), had that one once because they didn't have the other pack.

the blue packet one isn't half bad. I used it awhile back for "messy nights out" as I smoked like a trooper when drinking...

I actually prefer hash to grass - so pure is not an option. Good thought though! :P

I have found a substitute on eBay called Dutch Spirit - anyone come across this? I have not been in Amsterdam since I stopped smoking but it is allegedly used in the Coffee Shops.

sorry i'd kind of forgot people still smoke hash as the only hash thats been available round here for many years is soap bar.... which is fine if you enjoy smoking dog shit mixed with plastic and tranquilizers, where did all the real hash go? :P

Go to your local independent health food shop (NOT H&B!) or go online and ask for Mullein Leaves - a herb that was smoked by people with respiratory problems and is often used as the base for other herbal tobaccos. Can be a bit twiggy but 5 mins sifting it and you're ready to roll. Taste is not unpleasant and its dirt cheap too!
