Glasto 2011 tickets

been around the forums and read a lot about folks not being able to get their tickets due to them being snapped up in lightning time and now I'm really concerned!

We've been planning our glasto trip for years - exchange rate being a b***h and being from a country with no such thing as minimum wage makes Glasto a luxury worth many many months/years of hard work; and it would be absolutely horrendous to have everything planned out, tickets and hostels booked and just not get those Glasto tix, so I plan to be extra extra prepared.

my questions :

1. The phone lines being jammed - does this apply for the international lines as well? If so, how bad are we talking here?(I foresee the wait might result in my phone call costing more than the tickets themselves)

2. The official site mentions that international bookings will be sent via registered international mail. Do extra charges apply?

3. Is it too early to register now (before Glasto 2010) and just check the box that says " to save your registration details for future years."?

4. What are my odds of actually getting a ticket if I do my homework and standby with a couple phone lines and internet lines within the first two hours?

Thanks in advance from KL.

A friend of mine was trying to buy from overseas, the phoneline kept going dead on her, that's when it was not busy. She was not a million miles away from KL at the time. She gave up on it, and I bought them from the internet for her in the end in the surprise resale shortly after they'd sold out. I'd recommend having a good plan in place with a few people trying for tickets.

I think I am right in saying that this years tickets sold-out at 9.30pm. Therefore it took 12.5 hours to sell-out. I bought them on the internet at about 3pm no problem. I would not worry too much about it, just make sure you attempt to buy them on day 1 of the sale and you will be okay.

For what it's worth, I bought from overseas this year.

Logged on at 1am (my local time) and had a ticket deposit down by 1:15am

I'd avoid the phones alltogether. An issue cropped up with my credit card and I had a horrible time trying to fix things via the phone. (Finally sorted out, but cost me about $70.00 in phone calls! And the calls didn't help, finally fixed via e-mail exchanges.)

I'd just plan to buy on line again if I ever get to make it back after this year.

It was around 2 hours back in 2005. I got my ticket just as See Tickets website said All Sold, and the radio was saying All Sold. I managed to get the booking form up just before it was locked out from All Sold condition. That was lucky, but I had to then wait 24 hours or so for confirmation email, not being sure whether I'd got in or not.
