it's the messenger, not the message. if he cared so f**king much, why is he still a rockstar and not a politcal activist? ask yourself that. surely the person who should feel most guilt is the twat in front of a rock microphone rather than going to the trenches and fighting the cause like other people.

To a large degree his status as a rockstar is what facilitates his role as a political activist. Would he have had access to the likes of George Bush if he was just a regular guy fighting a cause? I doubt it. Can't have one without the other mate in his case.

To vent anger at the messanger at the expense of the message itself is banal. And that's what seems so ridiculous about this whole debate. Their are people suffering, and people are moaning that the guy who is telling them that there are people suffering gets all the anger.

That's shooting the messanger.

Since you ask, Google 'Burma Campaign', and consider joining.

They were recently successful in saving a refugee camp on the Thai border from being relocated back to Burma (certain death).

They publish an annual list showing all the companies who invest in Burma (read: do deals with the military dictatorship) for poeple who care, to boycott.

Sometimes these companies are even embarrassed into quitting their business in Burma.

Well you did ask! :P

after the last tour, and the twenty that proceeded it, and his status of being bono (former) u2 front man, i think he could manage to have talks with the highest of the high.

the singer of the bloody boomtown rats managed to hold the biggest gig the world has ever known, i think bono could do it all now without being a rockstar. but he won't. cos he's a nob'ed/

I said clearly in my first post that some people react to Bono because of guilt. Not people on here, but people in general. I then went onto further clarifty that I didn't expect people on here to feel the need to reply saying they do what they can, "their bit".

Get off your high-horse, and stop making something personal when it isn't.

when Geldof organised Live Aid, the Boomtown Rats had not long been one of the biggest bands in the UK, and with Midge Ure had recorded the biggest selling single ever. He couldn't have organised Live Aid if he hadn't been in either of those bands

    • Skylink is 24 hours... But the skylink will drop you off at Pegasus business Park or EMA (East Midlands Airport) where you'll have to use the Download shuttle link, which isn't 24 hours. The last shuttle from the Download transport hub to EMA is 12:15 TrentBarton / Local bus info here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/download2026   Skylink Derby / Leicester / Loughborough timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/services/skylinkderby  Shuttle timetable here: https://www.trentbarton.co.uk/userfiles/hotel.pdf If you miss the shuttle, which is very doubtful, you'll just have to find another way to EMA / Pegasus business park, maybe a taxi. You could even walk to EMA from the Download transport hub, wouldn't take too long. Just make sure you use the airport's 'circular path' instead of the dangerous roads.  I walk the circular path often, it's nice and easy. I would post instructions but I very much doubt you'll miss the shuttle, and if you do, it isn't hard to work out. The footpath is clearly signposted from directly opposite / across the road from where the download map has labelled "Pickup and Drop Off Exit."
    • So for Harry Styles it was actually a plastic bag that basically blocks the view of the front and back cameras. You can still use the phone screen. It's much easier than using lockers, especially for people leaving for the last train etc    I think it's basically reliant on the threat of security kicking you out if you start filming.
    • Hey, does anybody have a joining link for the WhatsApp group plz? I know the secret sets get posted there but have a new phone and number
    • Do you think they'll release today's cupra pulse lineup?
    • I had a great time yesterday and came to the conclusion that everytime (or, more accurately, both times) I didn't have a great time at Primavera, it was water-related. Either there was too much of it (Thursday 2026) or there wasn't enough (Thursday 2022, week 1).
