Day tickets

A f**k load of tickets got given away last year because ticket sales were piss poor for soni. Sure you can dress it up as pr boost or whatever but the amount they gave away was infuriating and reading the amount of tickets given away only seemed to anger people who had paid full whack for their tickets.

I remember the majority of people saying they wouldn't be in a rush to buy tickets for next year saying they would see what competitions and discount packages came out.

If I remember rightly... :P

Not crying, don't really care. I was just pointing out to Lithium and the few who smugly say "I'll just wait for my free ticket", they won't get it. And as for marketed everywhere last year, yes it was - but it was in it's first year (so had to go from nothing to something to be able to compete), and the free tickets were part of that push.

However this has gone greatly off topic so I'll leave it at that.

I guess the 'we're not giving away tonnes of tickets' stance is kind of like the 'we might not release day tickets' DL have every year. You know they will have day tickets. Simple as.

the basic facts are, if they dont get x number of attendees, they will have the stall holders coming to them saying "we were promised 45,000 people onsite, and there were only 30k, we want 20% of our fee back" which they would be entirely entitled to do.

if it doesnt sell, they still need the peeps onsite.

    • I only camped in quiet camping once, it was the noisiest bit I've ever experienced! 🤣I think the problem is it's the first bit of the site you walk into and lots of people just dump themselves there! We camp in the top right of that map and find it pretty quiet, family/settlers' camping is very quiet apart from crying babies 😆
    • I didnt get mine until today so maybe they're being slow getting them out this time?  Either that or worth emailing them about it as ive seen theyve been able to sort it out according to other forums
    • Coachella can pay at least $10 mil usd. That doesnt count merch sales. Adidas has collabed with the festival before so Oasis x Adidas x Coachella  collection will be a hot commodity. If Justin Bieber can rake in $15 million in merch sales, why cant Oasis bring in half that and thats another way to pay them? Just gotta be creative with the financials.
    • Over £400. and everyone in here owes me for beating the odds of it crossing that threshold in under 5 years. Gonna close out the decade at £475 and then we can discuss whats priced out and what isnt.
