not everyone on efests goes on the official boards and the thread is LONG so i've had a quick skim through and I'll post whats important here

#- Poster layout is Main Stage headliners first row, subheadliners [TCV, Deftones, STP] second row, these will play directly under the headliners, no other bands will be announced to play above TCV, Deftones, STP

#- Second Stage headliners are definatly BFMV, 30 Seconds To Mars and Stone Sour

#- Friday will not have as many bands on Main Stage as previous years due to the size and time it will take to set up AC/DC's stage setup.

Bands have been asked to play longer sets on this day, although the main stage will probably start later than the other stages.

#- A classic Rock band who haven't played the UK since 1991 have been booked, it isn't Manowar or Van Halen

#- Manowar apparently want too much money to play, so AC won't book them

#- Jagermesiter Acoustic stage will be new on site

#- 3rd and 4th stages will be switching places with each other from last year

#- The Arena area will be bigger than last year and the 3rd stage [in last years 4th stage position] will be even futher back away from Main Stage in a new area opened up by expanding the arena

#- There will be a 3rd entertainment tent in the Village , in addition to the Bell and the End tents

#- The next announcement is set for Monday March 15th

#- New speaker system setup, for better sound, won't travel as far but will still be loud where you are, apparently the sound system they use at Hard Rock Calling

#- They are planning a food court area [im guessing like they have a V] although they're saying they've taken the idea from Bestival

#- Wheelbarrows for hire

#- Free Water taps fixed from last year and there will be more this year

#- Says he hasn't booked Steel Panther at all for this years when asked if they're on Main Steel due to the crowd they got last year

#- Says Gallows refused to play unless they got put on main stage, and he didn't think they could pull it off and wanted them high second stage and thus, they aren't booked, guessing thats why they showed up on Sonisphere line up this week

#- Says he can't book Rob Zombie as he has no European plans yet

#- Paper cup return system will be back this year but will only be 10p per cup instead of 20p last year

#- When asked if Duracell tent will be back, they said no because Duracell lost too much money before and no-one recycled any batteries

maybe more to come...

A lot of stuff there, and a lot of work. Thanks, appreciated. Nice to see things in a nutshell

Errrr . . . Wheelbarrows ? Why ? Trip to the local garden centre or something ?

Pretty cool, really can't decide on the ACDC vs BFMV clash. I am a bigger fan of BFMV but ACDC is... well ACDC and will be memorable and historic.

I know I can catch all of BFMV and like over half of ACDC but yeah you know, I'll see!

You will have plenty of opportunities to see BFMV over the years, if you havent seen AC/DC before - you dont want to miss the entrace they make. the train bursting through the back of the stage is something special.

and thanks for summarsing all that salty.

glad steel panther arent booked - they are a f**king insult to everyones intelligence.

wonder who the classic rock band are? dokken? gutted he said deffo no van halen.

The two entertainment tents were named by the forum members on the official boards last year.

They've said this new tent can be named by the board members too, be interesting to see what it gets called ha ha

A Jagermeister Acoustic Stage - according to the Rumour Roundup thread, Bowling For Soup were up for an acoustic set. So I guess if that's the case, an increased likelihood of BFS at Download again?

Good to hear of the new speaker system, although to be honest it didn't bother me much last year. Great news about wheelbarrows! That should be a right laugh! The food court idea I think was a little overdue so good to hear they're bringing it in.

Gallows is no big loss, personally don't think they'd suit main stage either. And if its less bands on the Friday to accomodate AC/DC, that's fine by me. I was also looking forward to Steel Panther this year, so hope they're still playing.

So third will be WAY further back that 4th was last year? Cos people moaned about the sound bleed between main & 4th last year, and 4thwas tiny last year. That area where 3rd was last year I kinda liked tbh, the fact it was tucked around behind the trees & was sort of enclosed. Unless they move the back of the arena WAY back Im not convinced it will work - I know that was the arrangement in the in-field but look at the space between the two, plus the massive bar inbetween - and the hill started to slope down again where 3rd was...

Not sure about this at all, tbh.

I'm not so sure 3rd stage was a joke, although it was a shame it was so empty for Voivod's set last year - really surprised there wasn't more metal fans with even a curious interest in Voivod in there.

It makes sense to make it bigger though, to accomodate the extra number of people coming in.
