To be honest, the miserable snobs in Thurstaton need to wake up. A festival is so good for our local environment and economy and definitely keeps the kids from getting drunk in random fields down there as I used to spend my time when I was younger. At least now it's in one place :P Alright not the best argument, but all this shizz about it would have done better without the licensing problems, it probably would, I mean, the price cut pissed so many people off who'd already paid, because they didnt think they were getting a refund. The weather didnt help it was horrible, but if you'd paid for a ticket you'd still go, surely?

I suppose next year will be the big test, this year they said it would only be British acts to keep the costs down but they face tough opposition from the new CONservtive local government who campaigned against it happening this year.

I hope it goes ahead again, it's about time Merseyside was in the headlines for good reasons, not the crime rates or the yob problems :)

Yes. To be fair, Merseyside is diverse and cultural, stretching as far as Toxteth to Calday (one of the top 10 places to live in 2008, where the footballers live). Thank god for the River Mersey :) . If I showed you a picture comparing the two, with Calday being reasonably close to where the festival was held it was shock you.

I think the festival organisers were clever to try and diverge the location, especially on the posters, not a bad tack considering the reputation of the CH postcode.

However, something to consider is, there was only 7 arrests across the whole weekend, for "petty" crimes, and thats across 3 nights camping. 7/5000 people.

I live on the Wirral where it was held, just wondered how successful you guys thought it was for a small festival? I was working on the saturday so I couldn't go http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

I'd like to read an unbiased, independant account of this one myself.

Rich> I went to do the review for eFests and I took Strudders. I have yet to submit a review as it was the worst experience of my life. We both travelled up from Manchester for the day and the highlight was the journet home. A one day event with beer tokens, and very overpriced beer.

I have no idea were the organisers got their numbers from, as we left after 6.30 and the double decker shuttle bus was packed, and it was packed after we left the Wetherspoons in West whatever after we stopped there for a beer.

Now you have met me and you know that I can find fun in an empty box, but this was dreadful :(

A day event meant for nearly 10k and they had 2 shit bars and 6 food stalls (from the same company). 5 traders were there as well, but it was all based in 4 big tents no mixing outside of the tents. I have not seen such a police and security presence for that apparent number, (managed to flirt with a rather attractive WPC on my way out and her Sgt boss ;) ) Some idiots paid for camping the night before as well.

No matter how I tried to write a review the best thing I could say was "very well organised for a concentration camp". I was actually asked by a security guard when they searched my bag "Why do you have a notebook in your bag and a pen?"

I am certain you know Strudders. Ask him. We left as all we could find to do was drink, and after spening neraly a hundred quid between us in a little over 6 hours we thought it would be more fun on a train home (and it was, I even ended up on Youtube)
