What a coup for the IOW. The f**king Strokes.

Anyway just thought for a bit of fun we could speculate over possible setlists, realistic ones and your dream ones maybe?

I'll just put up my dream one.

You only live once

Hard to explain

Under control

Automatic stop

What ever happened?

red light

-New Song-

automatic stop

-New Song_

juicebox

the modern age

on the other side

soma

ize of the world

hard to explain

new york city cops

reptillia

clampdown

you guys need more songs in your proposed setlists as their songs are all pretty short.

mine without the new songs and the clash cover clampdown is only 1 hour 4 minutes long with those three new songs and their regular set finisher Clampdown it would bump it to around 1 hour 20 minutes long and healdiners usually get around 90 minutes.

and The Strokes don't do that fake Encore bullshit so no Encore, Clampdown usually heralds the end of their set (sometimes take it or leave it)

Wouldn't be so sure dude when I saw Strokes headline Wireless festival, they did do an encore (New York City Cops, Take A Walk On The Wildside, Take It Or Leave It) and they played way less than the 18 tracks I listed about 14 in fact.

It always takes longer live than it does on record. They will be proper rock and roll though, no b.s., very rough and ready.

Julian was so smashed when I say them he said "hello we're the strokes" slipped fell on the back of his head, got up, said "woah okay" and launched into Heart In A Cage. It was awesome. Fab Also did a jig on his drumkit during Reptilia which was pretty sureal.

I've seen em a few times and yeah their usual last song is Take It Or Leave It. They are usually on for about 1hr 30mins or so can be slightly less!!

I really hope they open their set with something lively like Reptilia, Juicebox or even Last Nite to get the crowd going. As for playing new songs i suppose it all depends on how far along they are with the album. I would imagine a couple of songs sneaking into the set maybe :P

I had a look on setlist fm and here's a couple of setlists to give an idea into what they played, even tho it was 2006 and they were promoting First Impressions Of Earth :P

This is their last gig listed at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel, Providence USA....

I saw them a few years back on valentines day, good thing about the strokes is that they recognise their first album is what skyrocketed their popularity and don't shun it (Can be quite frustrating when you pay a lot of money to see an artist and they decide to omit their biggest songs, not really fair on the casual fan). Point is they played every song off is this it, bar is this it, ended with reptilia and take it or leave it, just a fantastic night :P
