They are an absolute cracking band live. Saw them support Mozza in Hyde Park a few years ago and they were excellent at Reading on the main stage.

They could certainly headline the John Peel! Fingers Crossed!!!

Saw them at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester last week to only 350 people. Absolutely amazing gig, best band about at the minute for me. Well chuffed theyre on.

I really like The Courteeners, Thought the first album was amazing. Don't think that much of Falcon as of yet but hopefully will be a grower.

I'm glad they're there again. They were very good in 2008 and I'm liking the new album so far.

I saw The Courteeners last night on the start of their latest tour.

They were on fire and could easliy headline the John Peel Stage or be high up the bill of the Other Stage. They played a great mix of their old classics with new tunes off the album.

The support band Detroit Social Club are also well worth checking out if you get chance.

Glasto 2010 is going to be fantastic.

I like their new single, but not impressed with the album or their live performance. I agree they are like an Aldi version of Reverend & the makers. Each to their own though...

I would love to know what gig you saw them at and wasn't impressed. Everyone (and I mean everyone) was having a banging time last night. It's been a long time since I've been to a gig and seen so many people singing and bouncing along, to every tune.

I'm also not sure about your Reverend comparison. I also like that band but wouldn't say they were the same.

But I do agree with your "each to their own" comment.

seen them play around 5 times now and they get better with time. off to see em in newcastlle in a few weeks, hopefully the new stuff will be decent live. early evening on the other stage i reckon if they play

I haven't seen them play, I've just seen live gigs on youtube and the like.
