FOLK singer and Woodstock veteran Melanie is to return to the Isle of Wight Festival 40 years after her performance at the legendary 1970 event.

Organisers announced today (Tuesday) she would be back on the Island in June, hoping to repeat the success of her Afton Down appearance, when she received four standing ovations.

This time around she will share the bill with the likes of Jay Z, The Strokes and Pink at the Seaclose Park event.
