Anyway, however you look at it, allowing x thousand cars into the car parks will reduce the traffic on the roads that cause bottlenecks. More people get through the gates into the festival per minute than cars into the car parks. So better to have more people queuing to get through the gates then queuing to get into the car parks. For the locals for a start.

If it's wet on Wednesday, you can guarantee it won't be as busy either.

The only place I could see this would working is in the campervan fields as they are outside the festival site and are already self contained for sleeping, cooking etc. Plus it gets a lot of slow moving vehicles with a tendency to overheat (VW's are notorious!) off the roads!

I'd love it if I could get my VW off the road and parked up as soon as possible, my '65 splitty is one of the most uncomforable vehicles to drive long distances and my shoulders ache after an hours driving so god knows how I'll cope driving down! We got it a few months ago so this will be our first Glastonbury in it. I can't wait to do the festival in comfort and style but I'm dreading the drive down from Leeds at 55mph and the inevitable wait to get on site is not going to be good for me or the van!!

It would be a big help opening the car parks in the early hours.

Leeds festival did it this year , and there were no problems whatsover. In previous years 1,000's of

cars were heading to the festival during rush hour and it gave everyone including the locals loads

of aggro

i don't think the opening of car parks will be that much of a bad thing...how many people are going to go out their way to get to the festival at stupid times in the morning??? apart from the people who are travling stupid distances.... for me coming down from sunderland and the festival die hards
