not a front fan myself so cant help (tho I ended up there for muse last year by accident) but years ago errr 2004 I saw the Killers and was at the front - they were quite unknown, played bout 3 in the afternoon, we had heard hot fuss and LOVED it and all went mental dancing in a relatively small crowd - one of the best gigs Ive ever seen!

V is quite unique in the fact that lots of people just get to the front & stay there, regardless of who's on. At every other fest I've been to the majority of the front row changes from band to band with people only keen to get to the front for the act they're passionate about.

Best way is to go to side (left hand side of the stage) and get in that way, we were very close for both KOL & Muse last year. Think I'll be out of the crowd for Oasis as 2 days stinking of piss isn't that much of an attractive proposition.

why the front? its best to be about 10 rows back. providing you are around 6ft tall you should be able to see and have a good crawd around you. i was on the barrier for kasabian and getting crushed against something hard isnt that nice, get 10 rows back and you will be squashed inbetween softness of the people around you.
