Owing to the number of people with whom I am going this is the first Reading where I am attending primarily for the social occasion rather than the music. That's not to say the music isn't important, Radiohead is one of the key factors in me deciding to come, but on the whole I don't care as much about the music this time.

In previous years I've fussed and jostled, checking out every band on the lineup, and religiously pre planning to see anyone I have even a passing interest in. This year I'm just going with the flow, with only a few dead certs. However, if I was to hazard I guess I'd go with:

Friday

Kings Of Leon

Placebo

Saturday

Rise Against

Thursday

Sunday

Radiohead

MSTRKRFT

Chase And Status

Vampire Weekend

Brand New

It sort of annoys me that I wouldn't mind seeing the two 5 of the main stage AND the top 5 of the dance tent on Sunday, yet on the previous days I can only muster a few I WANT to see a day. As much as I love YYYs though, I reckon If I move between the main and dance (making only Radiohead the dead cert) than that'll be for the best. Either way, I'll see what happens when I get there, which is actually pretty exciting really.

I could be wrong, but am I right in saying La Roux will be performing to an empty tent, judging by this thread? :)

(Looks like my gf won't have a problem jostling for position there then!)

My list consist of mainly main stage artists, as I am ashamedly behind on recent artists, so some of the earlier/lower stage artists are unknown to me (probably due to a combination of age and ignorance!)

Can I have some recommendations for bands other than the ones listed below, with songs I need to hear?

Arctic Monkeys

Radiohead

Kings Of Leon

The Prodigy

Kaiser Chiefs

Maximo Park

Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Placebo/FATM

Ian Brown

Vampire Weekend

The bands I like that I won't be seeing due to clashes are

Faith No More

Lost Prophets

White Lies

Glasvegas

Ta :)

    • Start another one...    Il go with, Florence Road -  who im sure will be Flo-Ro eventually. Getting rave reviews including from myself, Probably will be on many more peoples radar post this festival season, doing quite well up to this point, bear in mind they still have not released an album. Putting them on Woodsies for now but this could easily end up on Other.

    • Hi all, first timer at trees this year volunteering with Oxfam. Any tips or suggestions of must-sees other than the main stages on my time off? I keep seeing chats about the silent disco?    Also any smaller bands recommendations? Sprints / Arcane Roots / High-Vis style. Cheers all 🤝
    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
