I took this photo today while on the train...the weather was pretty shitty around this way today and also it was a high speed train so the quality is not all that great..but can see the portocabins and the base of the main stage....when I came back on the train this evening what looked to be the framework of the mixing/sound/light desk for the main stage had gone up - I'll keep taking photos on a daily / weekly basis if peeps want to see the progress off the site...will make sure I'll get on a slower train on the way home as that runs on the tracks nearer to the side of the festival compared to the high speed ones

yep !!! if anyone has any connections to FR/Reading put forward the idea of a webcam! not like it would cost much, it doesn't need any maintaining - just a webcam with an image being uploaded to the reading festival website

Well the news today is that the inner framework for what looks likely to be the NME/R1 Stage/Big Top Tent has gone up and also a crane was in place putting up the framework for the main stage.....loads of gate marker flag things have also been put up everywhere, along with loads of fencing all over the place, toilets, portocabins etc......the camping grounds/areas seem to have also all been marked/fenced off and I can't believe how far back it seems to go...looks as tho it almost goes as far back as Tilehurst train station!

Is the Main Stage in the same place as usual? There were talks about moving it to help noise pollution.

I live near the site and have noticed today that the NME Radio 1 tent is up. It's rotated around 90 degrees and seems to be repositioned by a fair bit from previous years, so hopefully there will be more room to get around that area.

Boy have they been busy! since Friday - Today.....all the tents for the stages have gone up and also the main stage finally has some sort of a roof/covering to it at last ...also the camping areas have all the little different coloured flags up to represent which field....its really starting to look like a festival is about to take place there now
