Millets Chairs.....shite

anyone else witness or feel the benefit of 'these weak as you like' poorly manufactured crud?

whilst amusing watching people in some euphoric or dozed/monged bliss get interupted by the arm going first and the whole shite produce collapsing to even make them do a rolly polly on the floor.......had myself and friend in bits but I noticed these carcasses EVERYWHERE!!!!

even a mate of ours bought one to last about 12 hrs......proper con......Don't think the proper millets would do em....just the onsite ones...............

REALLY REALLY SHIT....do not buy (about £8). bring one from outside, thats proper made. If that breaks (and I doubt it) you can at least take it back in a drug induced/paranoid/sleep deprived mess and throw it over the counter at the c**ts and get your money back...

tip though....keep your receipt :P

The Millets (Eurohike) ones look OK to me and certainly seem like better quality than the cheaper versions available from several other stalls on site. I think the usual price is ~£13 although I saw them on BOGOF when I just happened to wander past a store the other day. Not that I've ever bought one mind you, just that I recycled a couple of abandoned ones by bringing them home with me this year but they do seem reasonable quality anyway. Will let you know when I've given one of them a test drive at me next festi coming up real soon. If I end up in a heap on the floor surrounded or tangled up with bits of chair various and covered in ale then I will not be in any way impressed and you will be the first to know :P Well, the first other than those who were at the live performance anyway :D

Ok fair enough....maybe I shouldn't have named Millets as the main culprits (sorry Millets) :) , just I saw the same shitty ones on sale there too. (on the walkway between Guardian Lounge & John Peel stage).

They are not EuroHike and the ones we bought from outside were proper reinforced and well made (green in colour) and fine still.

I'm talking about these brightly coloured toy town ones. The actual rods holding it together are thin as you like. Maybe if you are under 10 stone you'll be ok. But you must of seen how many broken chairs that were left about. Hundreds. I certainly did. I reckon they get recycled for a new batch of chairs for next year. And they are laughing at us......they are you know....them c**ts!!! :P:D

despite having many reservations I took the plunge this year and invested in a chair for the first time. After a lot of research I opted for a beach chair made by 'Kelsyus'. The idea being that the chair folds up and you can carry it around on your back like a ruck sack and when open in all of its glory it sits very low on the ground so you don't annoy everyone behind you (normal chair users take note). It even has a recline mechanism so you can soak up more rays!! My wife points out that it woudl be crap in teh mud and I would have to agree with her - brilliant back at the tent though. Early usage was good, lots of people asking me where I got the chair from (google it and I found a mail order company selling them for £20 although there are a lot of other places selling them for a lot more) By the Saturday I noticed that the material was starting to rip - not good. Fortunately, the chair lasted the weekend and has even had some more use since on a camping trip. Thought I had bought a good quality product that would last the stresses and strains of Glasto, but even this make failed to live up to my hopes. The good news is that it didn't completely self destruct and join the crap chair graveyard that forms part of the aftermath. Its is now tucked away waiting for next year. Hoepfuly I will at least get another year out of it :P

We bought our chairs at a camping shop at the festival, two for £20.00 mines still going but the other one was cack the arms bent out and the chair was knackered after two days use so does this depend on the person using the chair on how long it lasts??? ;);) ?

Right then, just thought I'd get around to posting a quicky update on this potentially libellous thread ;)

The 2 unloved, generally used and abused Millets 'Eurohike' Glasto chairs that I rescued from an untimely demise and recycled this year are just fine. Not only did they quite obviously survive the best efforts of whoever actually bought them at Glasto trying to break them but the very slightly less than pristine and obviously used one also coped admirably with supporting my ale sodden carcass for most of the 4 days at CRF this year as well  In fact it will (hopefully) be returning to it's birthplace for Glasto 2010 for more of the same abuse and no doubt will be enjoying many other festis and outings various in future years ! The other one doesn't even look like it's been used at all TBH so will be lurking in the loft for a few years yet.

The very first year that I've ever had a festichair it has to be said but bad news for all the chair-haters out there I'm afraid as I'm sorry to say that it will by no means be the last. Mucho thanks to the lazy, selfish and inconsiderate tw@t(s) who abandoned these l'il beauties at Castle Cary on the way home this year ... but I could really do with the carry bag thingy as well so maybe you could post me that if I PM you my address or something :P

    • Guitarricadelafuente was bloody brilliant tonight. This is going to be a very Spanish focussed year for me. Rusowsky dragging out Las Ketchup on Saturday has the potential to be a Prima magic moment.
    • £112 for standard entry. No thank you.
    • Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.   First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.   Amble was £31 this morning.
