Hmmm, I might be shot down here BUT the lemon cider this year didn't taste like last years. This year I noticed they were squirting some lemon/strawberry/toffeee-apple post-mix into each pint, previously they it was all draft (that doesn't neccessarily mean they still weren't post-mixing it though).

Agree that it's a victim of it's own success, not having any power on the Wednesday pm wasn't any good either ;-) Also, any chance they can start selling it in those 2ltr takeaway bottles again?

I had 2 pints of the pear stuff on the Saturday, waiting for Rolf. The first pint was glorious but the second pint tasted like there was hardly any pear in there, like fizz without the juice. I went back very politely after only having a sip or two and asked if I could have another. The girl serving was really nice and apologetic and went to clear it with her line manager, who then came over to me really aggressively saying there was nothing wrong with the drink and that it was all in my head, which she repeated twice more in the same aggressive manner. I was taken aback as have always been really supportive over the years of Brothers and visit them as my bar of choice at Glasto. When I finally came to and pointed out that I had paid £3.50 for a drink I was unhappy with and that I really didn't think it was in my head, she reluctantly replaced my drink, and what d'ya know? It tasted like it should. I was really upset by the way I was treated, as I'm not one to pull a fast one, wasn't drunk, and knew it wasn't what I had been served one pint before. Needless to say I couldn't be bothered to return back to the Brothers Bar for the rest of the weekend.

BUT yes I agree, there should be another bar on site somewhere...

I think Brothers come over here quite frequently - so I'm sure they'll read this thread. I can't say I had anything other than friendly peeps get me lovely ciders, sad to hear that wasn't the case for all of you. But two or three bad experiences over the thousands of beers served can't be that bad?

I only went to the bar on 2 occasions, but on both I ordered 2 pints, and then was encouraged to buy 3 for a tenner. I declined, and the young lass seemed genuinely pissed off. Seems everyone wants me to be an irresponsible drinker.

Each Bungee CupTM comes with a Bungee Cup BuddyTM. Essentially an Eastern European child that will hold you cup for you, until you need futher refreshment. He to is on a bungee cord.

I thought the choice for real ale drinkers was quite poor at the main bars I frequented (Mandela, Park, and the one near the cider bus). Wasn't a big fan of Bath Gem. Bath Festival was drinkable. The bar up in the acoustic field had a much better selection of real ale, but I didn't go up there much.

And most of the bars kept running out of real ale. Real ale drinking is getting more popular apparently, so there should be more available. Support some more local breweries, rather than the big lager companies. The "premium" lager they were selling was awful.

In recent years the main bars only had one ale, Woodforde Wherry, which was OK but tasted a bit watery but was the only alternative to mass produced lager. They also ran out of that very frequently. This year there was a choice of two, and both of them were better than Wherry in my humble opinion. So that's a massive improvement. We only had to resort to lager once, very late on the Sunday night/Monday morning.

At times it was manic on just the one and you had to walk mileage for a cool pint of the stuff! I say we make a petition to get brothers some more darn space at the place! Whos with me?

Personally I think that a £1 deposit on each cup used for alchohol would ensure most people would return them instead of just dropping it.

Imagine no cups on the floor!! A round of drinks costing you more *IF* you chuck the cups away?? I for one would return with said cup for refund or refill.

There is a system I invented and I am surprised it hasn't been bought up by anyone. It called "Bungee CupTM". Essentialy a cup on a bungee tied to the bar, when you have finished your drink just let go, and off it pops back to the bar

We need to go into business together. I've invented a pint glass that's designed to stop people hogging tables in pubs and nursing one drink for >30mins. Basically the base of the glass is manufactured from a soluable material which once soaked in booze will last approximately 30mins (20mins if it's a Friday or Saturday night, got to work o that though). After this time it will simply dissolve and the contents of the glass will empty out over the table/person in question. It also has the benefit of doubling up as some sort of chicken type game you can play with your mates.

Eh, surely the same logic applies to them having just the one?! The whole basis of their business is that they use bar/stall equipment to sell tankers of their alcohol to us lot, surely if they think the demand is there then a second bar would make perfect sense. Imagine a 2nd brothers bar at the other end of the site - I'd say it would do best in Dance Village, as you'd catch the ravers, plus the Other and JP crowds. Who the hell is going to walk to Jazz for a pint when you're at that end of the festival.

The other way to do it would be to elbow Gaymers out and have Brothers as the official cider. No idea about the viability of that though...

Surely Brothers can hire bar equipment people set bars up in marquees all the time.

I wouldn't put it near the dance village though giving 7% cider to loads of pilled up peeps might not be such a wise idea, I'm not suggesting everyone is pilled up but...calsberg for them...

see... http://www.thepublican.com/story.asp?storyCode=54443

"Brothers Cider is set to become the official cider of Glastonbury Festival until 2011, the company announced today.

The contract allows Brothers to sell cider across the bars on the festival site as well as have its own exclusive bar area throughout the three-day event, which runs from June 22-24, 2007. ..... "

it was in all the bars in '07 , but as all i went too had run out of Brothers by the friday, i guess they probably lost the 'official cider' of the festival contract... (or it would still be in every bar)
