Was the sound near the back bad for Kasabian or something? We were in the front section and the sound was fine bar forgetting to turn the mic on for start of underdog and i thought they were awesome, the crowd went mental.

Yep just behind the second set of speakers the sound for Kasabian was far too quiet, as it was for Prodigy just behind the sound desk. Thought Kasabian did a banging set tho, 3 albums in and pretty much everyone around me knew every single track....can't argue with that. Despite the poor sound they definately went up in my estimation.

Bruce was totally underwhelming, appreciate the energy but just didn't do it for me. I really don't think he's aged well, and its the quietest i've ever seen the Pyamid at the end of a Saturday night set. Especially after seeing Neil Young the night before which could possibly be my favourite live perfomance of all time

Bloc Party

Bat For Lashes

2ManyDJ's

kele simply cannot get a big crowd going and doesn't seem to care or know how to structure a setlist, and what was with turning all the lights and big screens off and plunging it into darkness between every damn song?

the less said about that morose f**k bat for lashes the best!

the thing i hate about dance village is that you can hear all the different stages/tents at the same time unless you get right in the thick of it and that f**king crappy stage with the giant flowers was playing their music ridiculously loud and ruining the other stages with it's inane repetitive generic dance bullshit.

i still managed to enjoy some of 2ManyDJ's though but the sound was very poor.

Springsteen - absolutely gutted. I've spent years wanting to see him, but left after The River.

Specials - 'Er Indoors highlight. Left that half way through too.

Plenty of very good music to take up the slack though, mostly on the very small stages.

Kasabian, and it wasn't just behind the second set of speakers, I was quite close to the stage!! Kasabain were probably my favourite set from 2007, absolutely amazing.

I just couldn't get into it this year. What was the sound engineer doing? Lead guitar was non-existent as well as backup vocals!! People at the extreme front may have been ok as they probably heard guitar and vox from the monitors!

I was really annoyed at it, what makes it worst is that everyone else seems to have loved it and not mentioned the sound issues, apart from in this thread of course! I thought it was me being pedantic about it- But I'm more than sure that the sound engineer was either asleep or the guitarist pissed him off before the set. He may as well have not turned up!

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
