Ive just had a 40minute conference call where my input was saying 'yes' 3 times. On two of those occasions i had to be asked the question twice because i was singing Kasabian songs in my head imagining seeing them live

Ha ha, yesterday I made a major balls up!

I'd missed out a bit of my SQL WHERE clause and ended up changing 25,000 orders instead of the 5 I actually wanted to change. Phones were going mental and I had to nip home to sort it out in peace and quiet away from everyone flapping! It was far from straight forward to fix as well because the bloke who designed the database didn't have ID fields in the table so it wasn't as straight forward as I'd have liked fixing it from the backup.

First time I've done anything like that in about 10 years!

Ironically, on Monday I was writing up instructions for my assistant who will be looking after the system whilst I'm away, which emphasised the importance of testing your WHERE clauses with a SELECT before doing an UPDATE. At least I was able to test out the emergency procedures I'd specced out

It's a good thing my boss has a sense of humour!

My boss told me to enjoy the festival as she was leaving today and i had to point out I still have 2 days left of work- there was a look of dismay on her face - think i have ground her down with all my excitement and popping into her office every 5 minutes saying "guess what ill be doing this time next week?!?!?!?!!!!!"

My boss has been off all week and I have done sweet f**k all apart from look at glasto stuff

so next week looks likes this for me:

Monday: Blag / Explain that I have actually done some work, it just doesn't look like I have.

Tuesday: Boss is off so another day of nothingness / excitement / trying to explain to people in the office why I'm so excited.

Wednesday: Relax and Enjoy

You know the rest.....

Done my last shift before Glasto today

I managed to control myself right up to the point where Blur's 'Girls and Boys' came on over the tanoy system and was played thoughout the shop. Spent next 4mins singing along to it- getting some strange looks from customers as they walked past  Remaining 6hrs of my shift was spent with a huge grin on my face and endless chatter about Glasto and general Glastobating. Lost count of how many times I told folk where i'll be in a weeks time.

My workmates probably had a party when I left today. Think a few of them were a tad annoyed that since Feb all ive talked about has been Glasto this and Glasto that.

Tell me about it. It's been impossible to concentrate for about three weeks now. Particularly as I work in Bristol on the fifth floor of a large block and my window looks South towards Somerset. Keep awaking from a deep Glastonbury day dream to find myself staring past my screen and out of the window towards Worthy Farm...
