Hello.

I signed up to recieve the new Orange Glastonav application about 2 weeks ago but I still have not recieved the text message which contains the WAP link to download the application.

Has anyone else signed up for it this year.....and if so, have you recieved the text yet?

Finally did any of you get Glastonav last year.....and was it any good?

Thank you.

I also text the number for the orange glastonav about 2 weeks ago and still havent recieved the link. I've not used it in the past and I dunno why I signed up for it cause my partner hasn't got a compatable phone so its not like we can track each other. But from what I can understand, there are various other things you can do with it.

I used it last year - it was quite good as a handy pocket guide where you just press a button and it tells you whats on where. You also get notified of a few secret gigs, competitions and other stuff each day. The navigation features are a bit useless though - a paper map has more info and doesn't drain your battery.

I haven't been sent the link this year either, but last year it didn't arrive til very late either. I would wait til the weekend before the festival before chasing it up.

Strange. I was literally just looking at this thread when my phone went off. It was an SMS from Orange. I thought it was the Glastonav application, but instead it was a link to a web page which said my phone wasn't compatible.

There was a link to a list of phones which are compatible, and I couldn't believe it - unlike last year, it works on just about every Nokia there is except the N95 and N95 8Gb. As this is one of the most popular smart phones on the market, it seems like a very odd one to leave out.

Anyway. I guess that means Orange have started rolling out the application.

Edit: Just noticed. That page I was on still allows you to download the application, but you have to click on a different model of phone. I clicked on the N81 8GB and it's downloaded and working fine. It's a bit slow. The user interface has been a bit updated from last year. It's got a few new features.

And it's my first official Glastonbury thing this year!

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
